LEWES, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police have charged a man with a fifth DUI offense in Lewes.

It happened about 11:20 a.m. Tuesday on Coastal Highway. Troopers received a report that an SUV was weaving on the road near Minos Conaway Road. Police say a trooper tried to perform a traffic stop, but the driver continued traveling.

The vehicle stopped after it crossed Nassau Bridge.

Forty-two-year-old Donald Kilgore Jr. of Lewes was charged with 5th offense driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving and other traffic offenses.

Troopers say Kilgore was convicted of DUI four times dating to 1997.
