PHOENIX (AP) - State consumer-protection officials have good news for Arizonans purchasing chocolate candy for Valentine’s Day.

The Department of Weights of Measures says the weights of boxes of chocolate candy checked at retail outlets throughout the state were as advertised.

The department says it found a 100 percent compliance rate at the 23 stores where inspectors checked nearly 2,800 packages.

The department says its inspectors used laboratory calibrated scales to weigh randomly selected products from store shelves to verify the advertised net weights.
