DELAWARE CITY, Del. (AP) - Officials say a man was injured in a fall on a dredging barge in the Delaware River.

Crews were called out to the state dock on Clinton Street in Delaware City on Wednesday morning.

New Castle County paramedics spokesman Cpl. Peter Small says a 67-year-old man slipped on an icy surface on the barge and sustained a chest injury.

Small says marine rescue personnel with the Delaware City Fire Company transferred the patient from the barge to the dock and he was taken to Christiana Hospital, where he was admitted in stable condition.
