ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - More than 1,300 people at the University of Georgia plan to dance the night and day away for a good cause.

They plan a 24-hour dance marathon to benefit Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Dancing begins at 10 a.m. Saturday and is scheduled to end at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Mackenzie Ryals is a spokeswoman for UGA Miracle, the campus philanthropy organizing the dance marathon.

Ryals tells the Athens Banner-Herald (https://bit.ly/1jHGW23) that the event raised $346,289 last year and that organizers hope to raise at least $415,000 this year.
