FARGO, N.D. (AP) - North Dakota State women’s basketball coach Carolyn DeHoff is stepping down.

The school announced Thursday that DeHoff’s resignation is effective at the end of the season. The Bison have three regular season games remaining before the Summit League tournament.

DeHoff is in her sixth year at NDSU with a 72-101 record. She compiled identical 16-13 records in her first two seasons but has not had a winning record since. The Bison are 6-20 this year.

NDSU women’s athletic director Lynn Dorn says DeHoff decided to resign after the two of them had “a discussion” about the program.

DeHoff is a native of Cheyenne, Wyo., where she was a standout high school basketball player at Cheyenne East. She played at Arizona State from 1987-90, where she was a team captain.
