SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - The University of South Dakota and South Dakota State University are working together in a food drive that will benefit Feeding South Dakota.
The universities are encouraging Coyote and Jackrabbit fans to deposit food in barrels at seven Hy-Vee grocery stores in Sioux Falls and in the stores in Brookings and Vermillion.
The food drive began Saturday and will end March 2 after the women’s basketball game in Vermillion.
Feeding South Dakota is the state’s largest hunger-relief organization. A similar drive in November raised more than 35,000 pounds of food for the organization.
Food will be distributed through local food banks and pantries.
