SOUTH HAVEN, Mich. (AP) - Police say a tugboat has sunk behind the Michigan Maritime Museum in southwestern Michigan.

No injuries were reported. WOOD-TV and the Kalamazoo Gazette report it wasn’t immediately known why the Wilhelm Baum sunk in the Black River in South Haven, where it was docked.

No one was aboard tugboat at the time. Police say the tugboat’s owners and the U.S. Coast Guard were notified after the sinking.

The Wilhelm Baum was built in 1923 as an Army Corps of Engineers tugboat, and the Kalamazoo Gazette’s archives say the tugboat in 2003 got a permanent spot at the museum docks. South Haven is located about 50 miles southwest of Grand Rapids.
