UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A man has been jailed on criminal homicide and other charges after state police say he fatally stabbed a woman trying to break up a western Pennsylvania bar fight.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for 22-year-old Darius Lee Samuel, who faces a preliminary hearing Tuesday.

He’s been in the Fayette County Jail since his arrest Saturday after the fight at the Goal Post Lounge in Georges Township. That’s about 40 miles south of Pittsburgh.

Police say 21-year-old Rashaunda Fitzgerald, of Uniontown, suffered fatal stab wounds to the chest, while three men at the bar suffered non-life-threatening knife wounds during the fracas.

The incident occurred about 1:45 a.m. Police arrested Samuel hours later with the help of witnesses and surveillance video.
