NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a registered sex offender who lives in northern New Jersey has admitted possessing numerous images and videos of child sex abuse.

Anthony Chiampi of Totowa pleaded guilty Monday to possession of child pornography. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and as much as 20 years when he’s sentenced June 3.

Prosecutors say the 48-year-old Chiampi had to register as a sex offender following a child endangerment conviction. That made him subject to community supervision for life.

When parole officers went to his home last March, they found 63 disks that contained child porn images and videos, including material that involved prepubescent children.
