COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say more than two dozen cars were damaged in a weekend vandalism spree in an Orange County neighborhood.

The Orange County Register says (https://bit.ly/1h5AYZ3 ) police and firefighters responded to reports of a car fire in Costa Mesa early Sunday.

In addition to the damaged car, they discovered the garage had been spray-painted.

Shortly afterward, police started receiving several reports of spray-painted cars throughout the neighborhood of South Coast Drive, within a square mile of the fire.

Some of the cars had smiley faces and the words “ha ha” sprayed on them.

Investigators say 31 cars, three lighting fixtures and one American flag were vandalized.

Police do not have any suspects.
