ERIE, Pa. (AP) - A northwestern Pennsylvania man whose snow-covered body was found more than a day after he went missing from a New Year’s Eve party died from exposure to frigid temperatures and too much alcohol in his system.

The Erie Times-News (https://bit.ly/1c4gZur ) reports the Erie County coroner’s office has ruled the death of 19-year-old Keith McGhee an accident.

McGhee was last seen leaving the party in the early morning hours of Jan. 1. His body was found about 12:30 p.m. the next day. Police began searching for McGhee or his body after they received no information about where he might be.

Temperatures dipped to near zero when McGhee was last seen and he was not dressed for cold weather. Tests showed his blood-alcohol content was nearly double the state’s legal limit for intoxication.
