SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - The Spokane Valley City Council has banned texting by members during meetings.

The goal is to ensure that communication with council members is transparent to the public.

The Spokesman-Review reports (https://bit.ly/NwONVu) the ban on sending text messages or email during meetings was part of a revision of the city’s governance manual approved at Tuesday night’s meeting.
