JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) - The town of Jackson is considering making some changes of its own at the base of the Snow King ski area.

A design commissioned by the town would add a gondola to Town Hill and build an outdoor ice skating rink. The Town Council plans to discuss the idea Monday and take public comment.

The Jackson Hole Daily (https://bit.ly/1aW4wZ7 ) reports that the base of the gondola would replace a town-owned softball field. The ice rink would reduce the amount of parking available there.

The proposal comes as operators of the ski area are trying to add zip lines and other recreational amenities. That plan is before the U.S. Forest Service since most of the land involved is part of the Bridger-Teton National Forest.
