CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - The University of Virginia has received a $4 million challenge grant to create a new scholarship program.
The university announced the grant from alumnus John Griffin on Monday in a news release. The grant is conditional upon a match from other donors.
Griffin says in the release that the new Blue Ridge Scholarships will help make U.Va. more attractive to high-achieving students who have significant financial need.
