MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) - Second-year Idaho football coach Paul Petrino has signed 16 new players for the Vandals.

The group includes eight junior college transfers and eight high school players. They join seven transfers who enrolled at Idaho in January.

Petrino said Wednesday he was excited by a good recruiting class.

A coach’s son himself, Petrino said he was pleased to sign two sons of football coaches in quarterback Gunnar Amos of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and receiver David Ungerer of Pullman, Wash.

National rankings (Rivals 107; Scout 120)

Best in class: Jordan Rose, OL, Rockford, Wash. “We felt like he was one of the best high school offensive linemen we saw anywhere,” Petrino said.

Best of the rest: Jake Luton, QB, Lake Stevens, Wash.; Aaron Duckworth, RB, Orange Park, Fla.; Michael Garner, WR, San Diego; Dorian Clark, CB, Jacksonville, Fla.

Late addition: Jermaine Johnson, WR, Houma, La., a junior college transfer who should provide immediate help.
