RENO, Nev. (AP) - Nevada football coach Brian Polian is beefing up his defense with the signing of a half-dozen defensive backs and a pair of highly recruited defensive ends in Korey Rush of Salt Lake City’s East High and Patrick Choudja of Freedom High School in Oakley, Calif.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Choudja was recruited by Arizona State, Washington State, Boise State and Fresno State

The 6-foot-1, 260-pound Rush was an all-state selection his junior year and had interest from some Southeast Conference schools among others before he was injured three games into his senior season. He came back to play basketball this year.

Rush’s stepfather is Keith Johnson, a former major league baseball player and current manager of the Salt Lake Bees in the AAA Pacific Coast League.
