PHOENIX (AP) - A developer’s plan to build a tower like Seattle’s Space Needle in downtown Phoenix is slow to get off the ground.

Novawest is looking anew for a site for a 420-foot-tall observation tower after its plan to use a site at the Arizona Science Center didn’t work out.

According to the Arizona Republic (https://bit.ly/1btYU6j ), the tower would include a restaurant, bar, lounge, event space and possibly museum exhibits.

Novawest had wanted to build the tower in time to open it for the 2015 Super Bowl in Glendale.

It now hopes for an opening before the 2016 college football national championship.
