TIBBEE, Miss. (AP) - A state agency will give $90,000 to the Golden Triangle Regional Solid Waste Management Authority to help with tire disposal.

WTVA-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1n7wDo0 ) the grant, from the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, will be used to help local small businesses dispose of worn or damaged tires.

The grant is funded through a fee charged on wholesale tire sales in Mississippi.

The authority serves Choctaw, Clay, Lowndes, Noxubee, Oktibbeha and Webster counties.
