MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The Vermont Arts Council is going to be holding workshops to help prepare non-profit groups seek grants to enhance their buildings.

The deadline for applying for the grants of up to $30,000 is May 1.

The free informational Cultural Facilities Grant Seeker Workshops will be held Feb. 18 and 19 and March 5.

Vermont non-profit organizations and municipalities interested in applying for the grants are urged to attend one of the workshops.

The Feb. 18 event will be held in St. Johnsbury, Feb. 19 in Bethel and March 5 in Middlebury.

The grant program helps nonprofit organizations and municipalities enhance, create or expand existing buildings to provide cultural activities for the public. Eligible improvements include wiring, heating, accessibility features, lighting, and stage work.
