NORTHPORT, Ala. (AP) - Officials in Northport say a businessman charged with DUI in the death of a 12-year-old girl in 2012 has been arrested again on DUI charges.

Northport City Administrator Scott Collins told the Tuscaloosa News that 66-year-old Danny Ray Smith was arrested Wednesday while he was out on bond for charges of murder, manslaughter, vehicular homicide, assault and leaving the scene of an accident.

The man’s arrest prompted Circuit Court Judge Chuck Malone to sign a motion revoking Smith’s bond.

The newspaper reported that court records show Smith also pleaded guilty to a DUI in Tuscaloosa in 1981.

It’s unclear if Smith has an attorney.
