SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Shreveport’s City Council has unanimously voted to enter into an agreement with the Red River Waterway Commission and the Shreveport Dog Park Alliance to build a dog park.

The park is planned for the city’s Stoner Avenue recreation area.

Mayor Cedric Glover had refused to sign a prior agreement to build a dog park at another location. However, Glover said the new agreement, approved by the council Tuesday, protects the city from additional expenses and includes other language vastly different from the initial agreement.
