Rev. Jeremiah Wright slammed President Obama’s drone policy Wednesday in a speech commemorating Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday.

Speaking at a breakfast co-hosted by the Chicago Teachers Union, Mr. Wright said that while Dr. King proclaimed “I have a dream,” Obama says, “I have a drone,” the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

“Every Tuesday morning, there’s a kill list that the president decides who they’re going to kill this week,” he said. “That’s a man controlled by government. A government based on militarism, racism and capitalism.”

Mr. Wright, pastor emeritus at Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, drew national attention during the 2008 presidential race. President Obama, a former congregant, distanced himself from the controversial reverend.
