DENVER (AP) - The man who was shot while using a woman as a human shield during a standoff in Denver last week has died.

The Denver coroner’s office announced Monday that 34-year-old Blas Leroux died Friday night.

Leroux took three hostages at a 7-Eleven store on Jan. 13 and eventually left the store with the woman in front of him. Police fired and he was knocked over. The woman was able to run away.
