RENO, Nev. (AP) - Authorities say a Nevada Wolf Pack running back has been suspended from the team following his arrest on a misdemeanor battery charge.

The Reno Gazette-Journal is among media reporting Monday (https://on.rgj.com/1f77kQh ) that 19-year-old Chris Solomon was arrested Sunday by Reno police.

Wolf Pack head coach Brian Polian issued a statement saying Solomon had been suspended while team officials gather more information.

KOLO-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1bGmBZD ) that Solomon was freed from the Washoe County jail on $3,000 bail.

Details of the arrest and a court date weren’t immediately available, and it wasn’t clear if Solomon was represented by a lawyer.

The 6-foot, 195-pound Solomon is from West Covina High School in California. He played a back-up role as a freshman last season.
