MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - Beth Garbitelli, a reporter with experience in television and print, has been hired by The Associated Press to help cover breaking news, state government and other key issues in Vermont.

Garbitelli, a native of Brookfield, Vt., joins the AP from WNET, the Public Television station in New York, and the PBS NewsHour. She worked for the politics unit at PBS and helped produce daily interviews and segments from the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. She also interned at Meet the Press.

Garbitelli is a graduate of Georgetown University. Her temporary assignment began Tuesday.
