BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Authorities have identified the man who died when his vehicle went off Bogus Basin Road as a volunteer ski patroller at Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area.

The Ada County Coroner’s Office says 80-year-old Cesar Quijano of Boise died Saturday morning of blunt force trauma when his Hummer went about 100 feet down an embankment and rolled.

Quijano was a retired architect who had been involved with the volunteer ski patrol for more than 40 years.

Sheriff’s office spokesman Patrick Orr tells the Idaho Statesman (https://bit.ly/1cVjBVb) that witness reports indicate Quijano wasn’t speeding.

He says it appears Quijano lost control coming out of a corner, and slick conditions might have been a factor.

Ski patrol member Kevin Hudson says Quijano was generous and outgoing, and will be missed.
