ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) - A St. Joseph man says he needed a car, but he didn’t expect one to turn up in his garage overnight.

Rudy Phelps says he woke up around 9 a.m. Tuesday, looked out the window and saw a 2005 Dodge Stratus parked in his garage. The St. Joseph News-Press reports the (https://bit.ly/1biMQkS) 72-year-old says the car had some damage and he figured it probably had been stolen.

Phelps called police, who believed the car might have been connected to an incident Monday night. Its owner came to Phelps‘ house and picked it up, saying he had left the keys in the vehicle Monday night and someone just took off with it.

Police Capt. Jonathan Beaver says there are no suspects, but at least the owner got his car back.
