KEY WEST, Fla. (AP) - Amway President Doug DeVos and his Quantum Racing crew have regained the lead in the 52 class at the Key West 2014 sailing regatta off the Florida Keys.

DeVos steered his U.S.-flagged boat to two first-place finishes and a second during three races staged Thursday. DeVos is three points ahead of second-place Ran, skippered by Skype co-founder Niklas Zennstrom, racing under a Swedish flag, and more than nine points ahead of last year’s winner Azzurra.

Entering Friday’s final race of the 10-heat, five-day event, Italian-flagged Azzura, co-owned by Argentinean pharmaceutical mogul Pablo Roemmers, has no chance for a repeat win.

With three first-place finishes Wednesday, Hap Fauth has Bella Mente three points ahead of Alex Schaerer’s Caol Ila R in the Mini Maxi class.
