BEND, Ore. (AP) - Failing to pull weeds could bring a $2,000 fine for property owners under an ordinance under consideration in Deschutes County.

It would give the county’s weed inspector more power to force the eradication of noxious weeds.

KTVZ reports (https://bit.ly/1eEYOct ) a public hearing on the proposal is scheduled for Feb. 5 at the county Board of Commissioners meeting in Bend.
