ELOY, Ariz. (AP) - Pinal County Animal Care and Control officers say they have rescued 32 small dogs from a hoarding situation southwest of Eloy.

The officers went to a home in Silverbell Estates on Thursday after receiving a tip.

Animal Care and Control Director Kaye Dickson says the house had urine stains on the walls and many of the dogs had matted fur and weren’t in good condition.

Dickson says the dogs appeared to be poodle mixes.

Animal Care and Control staff will evaluate the animals and decide on a potential course of action.

The investigation will be forwarded over to the county Attorney’s Office to see if charges will be filed.
