OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has identified the suspect who was killed in a weekend gun battle in which two troopers were wounded.

The patrol said Monday that the suspect was 35-year-old Zachary J. Sumner of Midwest City.

Troopers Ryan Smith and Chris Bunch were wounded in a gun battle Saturday morning that followed a pursuit of the suspect in Del City. The patrol has not released details of what led to the pursuit.

Smith, an eight-year veteran with the patrol, received a facial wound. Bunch, who has been with the patrol for one year, sustained a leg wound. Both have been released from an Oklahoma City-area hospital where they were treated.
