SEATTLE (AP) - Police say a man who tried to shoplift a Seahawks sweatshirt stabbed the loss prevention officer at a Seattle drug store.

The victim was stabbed on the head, hand and back Sunday afternoon when he confronted the man who had concealed the sweatshirt in his backpack. Medics took him to Harborview Medical Center and police expect him to recover.

Police searched the area and found the 30-year-old suspect hiding in a stairwell. They also found a knife and recovered the Seahawks sweatshirt.
