SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) - Officials say southbound Interstate 75 is partially reopened after pieces of concrete falling from an overpass closed the highway for several hours.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the concrete fell from the overpass at University Parkway in Sarasota County on Monday morning. While the inside lane of I-75 South was reopened several hours later, officials say it may take another day or two to get the center and outside lane cleared.

Motorists were being detoured earlier to U.S. 41.

University Parkway in both directions remains closed.
