WEST MONROE, La. (AP) - State police say a 28-year-old Calhoun man died from injuries received in a single vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 80 a few miles west of West Monroe.

Trooper Albert Paxton says a car driven by 28-year-old Dennis Lannan ran off the highway late Thursday night and struck a tree.

Paxton says Lannan was not wearing his seat belt and suffered serious injuries. Lannan was taken to Glenwood Regional Medical Center where he died.

Paxton says alcohol use is suspected. A toxicology sample was obtained and will be submitted for analysis.
