JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Mississippi mayors, aldermen and city council members will have to wait a few more months to visit with each other at a convention.

The Mississippi Municipal League says that because of snow and ice in parts of the state, it’s canceling its midwinter conference.

The event originally was scheduled to run Tuesday through Thursday in Jackson.

MML says cities will not lose money. Registration fees that have already been paid will be applied to the annual convention this summer.
