BAKER CITY, Ore. (AP) - The mayor of Baker City is trying to fight City Hall.

The Baker City Herald reports (https://is.gd/iDyoGV ) that Mayor Richard Langrell wants the city to reimburse him for more than $14,000 in water and sewer fees he has paid for his motel - the Always Welcome Inn.

Langrell says the city has overcharged him for several years, and he may take the matter to court.

The Langrells’ attorney made the request for reimbursement in a letter to City Manager Mike Kee dated Jan. 9.

The City Council, minus the mayor, discussed the issue this week in a meeting that was closed to the public because it involved possible litigation.

The city manager declined comment.
