NEW YORK (AP) - The NYPD says a man arrested after a Staten Island carjacking has now been charged with killing a man.
Police say Tyrell Brown has been charged with murder in the death of Kuwan Collins of Voorhees Township, N.J.
Collins was found with a gunshot wound to the head Sunday on Staten Island.
Police said Thursday they’re also questioning Brown in connection with another homicide in the borough that day.
Both killings occurred shortly before the carjacking.
Brown was arrested Tuesday night near the Verrazano Bridge for allegedly stealing a black Hummer at gunpoint.
When police spotted the vehicle on the bridge Monday, police say Brown sped off and broke through the toll barrier.
It wasn’t immediately known if Brown had a lawyer.
