JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) - A 72-year-old woman who fled to a Jacksonville hotel during Hurricane Arthur says she was scammed out of her personal information by someone posing as a hotel manager.

WCTI-TV in New Bern reports (https://bit.ly/1w6UTLH ) the woman, who asked not to be identified, said she got a call in her room from someone saying they were the hotel’s general manager and that they were missing information from her reservation.

The woman said she gave the caller her credit card number, then went to the front desk to ask for the person who called her. The attendant said no one by that name worked there.

According to the woman, her credit card was used twice within an hour after the call.

The hotel’s actual general manager wasn’t immediately available for comment Thursday.
