PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - A man considered armed and dangerous with a history of assaults on officers is in custody after a standoff with Yavapai County Sheriff’s SWAT team.

Sheriff’s officials say 56-year-old Daniel Lohmeir was wanted for a probation violation and felony warrants as well as missing a mandatory court date on Wednesday.

The Maricopa County probation office asked the sheriff’s office to locate Lohmeir at his parents’ home in Prescott.

Deputies arrived at the home about 3 p.m. Wednesday and began negotiating with Lohmeir, who was alone in the house and refused to come out.

Three hours later, he came out of the home and was arrested.

It was unclear Thursday if Lohmeir has an attorney yet.
