PHOENIX (AP) - Two people who pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in a botched marijuana robbery at a Surprise home have been sentenced to prison.

Maricopa County prosecutors say Jesse Wade Gillen received a 14-year prison term Friday and Stephanie Rene Conley got a 10-year sentence.

The two originally were arrested on first-degree murder, robbery and other charges in the August 2012 death of Shawn Ryan and the assault on Martin Ridgway.

Authorities say Conley and Gillen were part of a group that went to Ridgway’s house to get marijuana.

They say hundreds of marijuana plants were found at the home.

Ridgway told investigators Ryan shot at him when he refused to sell marijuana.

Ryan died in a knife fight with Ridgway.

Conley and Gillen had prior arrests for marijuana and weapon charges.
