SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah (AP) - South Salt Lake police have arrested three men in what they’re calling the gang-related murder of a man in his truck last month.

Police say they’ve arrested 20-year-old Irving Nunez and 19-year-old Irvin Esequel Munoz, both of West Valley City. They’ve also arrested 19-year-old Ernesto Navarro of South Salt Lake.

Authorities are accusing the men of a June 23 confrontation that killed 40-year-old West Valley City resident Francisco Antonio Colon. He was found dead inside a Chevy Avalanche that was stopped in a South Salt Lake street.

His 17-year-old passenger was also wounded.

Police say two groups of people fled the area after the shooting, including one group of passengers who had been in the Avalanche with the victims.

An exact motive for the shooting has not yet been determined.
