BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A home improvement business in Bennington, Vermont, is closing after 65 years.

Employees believe Greenberg’s, which sells hardware and lumber, is closing soon.

The business store was founded by Norman Greenberg, who died last year. It traces its origins to an agricultural and livestock business started by his father, Harry Greenberg, in the early 1900s.

Last year, the family had a purchase and sales agreement with Leader Home Centers, which has five other locations, including one in Brattleboro, but both sides were not able to come to an agreement on the property itself.
