AURORA, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a man accused of biting an Aurora police officer during his arrest has been charged with several crimes.

The Denver Post reports Friday (https://goo.gl/b6cwLZ ) that 21-year-old Adam Nicklaus Lacer has been charged by the Arapahoe County District Attorney’s office with four counts of burglary, resisting arrest, motor vehicle theft, and four counts of assault on a peace officer.

Authorities say police chased Lacer on foot when they suspected him of burglarizing homes on July 2. Lacer, of Emporia, Kan., is accused of biting an officer and fighting off police when they tried to arrest him.

Lacer is being held on $50,000 bond and has a court hearing set for Aug. 12.
