GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) - A judge has ordered a man to spend life in prison with no parole in the killing of a man gunned down outside a Gainesville store.

The Times reports (https://bit.ly/W3rG9O) that Joseph Williams last month was convicted of malice murder in the June 2013 killing of Adrian Thompson in the parking lot of Peppers Market & Grocery.

At a Thursday hearing in Hall County Superior Court, Judge Jason Deal ordered Williams to spend life in prison with no parole.

The judge told Williams that he doesn’t recall a case in which the evidence of malice was so clear. Referring to surveillance video of the crime, the judge said, “You kept shooting until he quit moving.”
