COLUMBUS, Ind. (AP) - Authorities in central Indiana say a man revived his 3-year-old son after spotting the boy face down in an apartment complex pool.

Columbus Fire Department Capt. Mike Wilson says the boy was conscious and alert after being revived on Thursday and was hospitalized in stable condition.

Police tell The Republic (https://bit.ly/1mmULXA ) the boy was at the pool with his father and 9-year-old brother. The father was teaching the older boy to swim as the younger boy was floating on a raft.

Officials say the man turned around the see the 3-year-old in the water, pulled him out and started performing CPR.
