HAMPTON, Iowa (AP) - Officials have issued swimming advisories at two state parks in Iowa because of higher than normal levels of E. coli.

The Mason City Globe Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1rf0yin ) Beeds Lake State Park in Franklin County and McIntosh Woods State Park in Cerro Gordo were placed under the advisories following water tests this week.

The advisories mean officials do not recommend swimming at the parks until the bacteria levels are back to normal. Anyone swimming at either park should shower afterward and avoid ingesting water.
