LAKE LUZERNE, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say no mechanical problems have been found on a bus that crashed while transporting passengers for an Adirondack river excursion company, killing a 15-year-old employee.

State police tell The Post-Star of Glens Falls (https://bit.ly/1q3kdEU ) that an analysis of the brake system of the tubing company bus found the brakes to be in working order. The 77-year-old man who was driving the former school bus when it crashed last Saturday told police that the brakes failed when he tried to make a turn in Lake Luzurne.

The bus overturned and nearly landed in the Hudson River. Tubby Tubes worker Hunter Scofield was killed and several of the 33 other people on board were injured. The teen’s funeral was held Thursday.

The driver hasn’t been charged but police say their investigation is continuing.
