MIAMI (AP) - Two men have been charged in the fatal shooting of an assistant minister outside a convenience store in Miami’s Liberty City neighborhood.

Police say 20-year-old Larry Flowers and 19-year-old Tyreke Desire were charged Friday with first-degree murder and resisting arrest without violence.

Officials say 67-year-old Ken Johnson was walking from the church to the store to get bottled water on Thursday when the men tried to rob him. A struggle ensued, and authorities say Desire shot Johnson several times. He was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s trauma center, where he died a short time later.

The Miami Herald (https://goo.gl/WftMLv) reports that Johnson was a pastor at Power Faith and Deliverance Ministries. Rev. Vincent Spann said the church was holding a vigil Friday evening, walking from the church to the spot where Johnson was killed.
