CONVENT, La. (AP) - St. James Parish Sheriff Willy Martin says he doesn’t know if there will ever be an exact cause of death for 12-year-old Talaija (tah-LAY’-jah) Dorsey.

Martin tells The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1jy3arV ) an autopsy could not determine how Dorsey died.

Talaija’s mother’s fiancé, 42-year-old John Celestine, has been charged with first-degree murder.

Dorsey’s body was found near a cane field near a wooded area on La. Highway 3127 in Vacherie after a five-day search, just miles from her family’s home, where she was reported missing on July 1.
