MONROE, La. (AP) - State police have identified a pedestrian killed south of Monroe early Thursday morning.

Trooper Albert Paxton says 60-year-old Wilbur Young of Monroe was walking north on U.S. Highway 165 when he was struck by an SUV driven by 28-year-old Kary Davis.

Paxton says Young was pronounced dead at the scene.

Davis was not injured.
